ITINERARY
Our tour will start in Belem Market. We will walk through the market and we will be able to see the variety of fruits, vegetables, animals and other products used for the consumption of the population. We are going to walk by Pasaje Paquito, also called or known as the pharmacy of the jungle due to the different types of remedies that can be found here. As well as aphrodisiacs liquors such as the "STWTO" - Seven Times Without Taking it Out. In the lower zone of Belem where most of the houses are built on rafts to prevent flooding, we will get to know the activities that the locals develop depending on the condition of the waters of the river.
A small wooden boat will be waiting to take us down the Itaya river until we reach the place where it joins the Amazon and depending on the time and if we are lucky we will see the pink dolphins. After navigating their strong and fearsome waters, we will enter the waters of the Nanay River which will lead us toward one of its main tributaries which is the Momon River where we are going to visit a colony of the Bora tribe that is to the margin of this river. They will show us different types of dances very proper from the tribe, his presentation will be in their own language Bora and we were invited to be part of some of its typical dances; it is a good time for some photos as well as to buy crafts.
Another place that we shouldn't miss is the "Serpentarium", a place where they take care of wild animals that have been confiscated by the police and other ecological entity committed to the conservation of wildlife. We will have lunch in one of the floating restaurants. After enjoying a typical dish we go to Pillpintuwasi or Butterfly Farm to learn about the metamorphosis of the different species of butterflies from the eggs stage, they become larvae, are converted to caterpillars, they become cocoons to subsequently become a colorful butterfly.
After you have walked in the midst of a crowded market, having visited the floating neighborhood of Belem, sailed by four rivers, danced with Boras. After having grasped the anaconda, eaten Alligators nuggets and have learned about butterflies, our boat driver will takes us up to Bellavista Nanay from where we will take our taxi to our hotel.
